Students Share What It’s Like To Be Black At Mizzou

Being black at the University of Missouri was tough long before the country started paying attention to why.

Cultural insensitivity, racial slurs and de facto segregation are the common threads minority students say separate the 7 percent of black students from the 77 percent white students that make up the school’s population. Four black students shared their experiences with The Huffington Post on what their life is like dealing with racism on campus.

Last week I received a message from an anon who was sexually assaulted, pregnant, and needed an abortion, but had no ride. She lived in the area so, I decided to bring her myself. Her grandmother was very grateful that I was able to help and said she wished there were more people like me out there. And there are. After starting a post, a bunch of people began offering their services so I decided to make abortion rides a thing.

This is a list of individuals who may be able to bring you to where you are going to have an abortion. Please keep in mind that people do have other responsibilities and that you need to coordinate with them. They may or may not ask for gas money. It’s not a definite yes you will have a ride, they’re just willing to try and help. If you want to be added to the list, email me at alleecats@yahoo.com with your name, URL, and the location you can provide your help to (please make abortion rides the subject).

VIDEO: Living Under Israel’s Missiles

Four boys of the Bakr family were killed by a missile strike during last year’s incursion. Their surviving family members are still scarred from the attack.

More than anyone, children bear the brunt of regular Israeli military assaults on the Gaza Strip. During the 51-day war in the summer of 2014, 551 children were killed and 3,436 were injured. But these gruesome figures say little about the psychological state of the nearly 800,000 children who have survived the periodic bombing campaigns. After the final cease-fire that ended Israel’s Operation Protective Edge on August 26 of last year, UNICEF estimated that at least 425,000 Palestinian children in the besieged Gaza Strip require “immediate psychosocial and child protection support.”

The physical wounds of Gaza children might have healed, but they live with enduring psychological trauma ]
